I know, sometimes the struggle can be real when it comes to getting those baby hairs to do exactly what you want! How do all those IG baddies with amazing curls and natural styles do it? Well, I'm here to show you exactly how to achieve that look with a little cheating involved 😜 because hell who knows how any of those ladies have such perfectly laid edges all the damn time?! Are their edges really that thick and laid or do they do some voodoo magic that allows their baby hairs to be slayed to perfection? Lol ANYWHO lets get into the steps.

STEP 1

PULL DEM BABY HAIRS OUT
Using a damp toothbrush, spooly, or even your fingers start flicking the baby hairs out to loosen them from your regular hair. The key to this is to do it gently so no regular hairs comes out with the baby hair. If you want your hair to be healthier and have unbelievable shine I recommend using this Aloe Vera SPRAY . This sh#@ will change your life and you will want to use this for everything when you get because it is that good. Aloe vera contains enzymes that help to heal and repair damaged cells in your scalp which in turn promotes outstanding follicle health. A healthy follicle = Healthier faster hair growth.

STEP 2

SHAPE & LAY DEM BABY HAIRS
Squeeze a little bit of aloe vera gel on the back of your hand and gently dip your toothbrush to pick up just enough product. I love using this Aloe Vera Gel because it's only $3 and gets the job done without those nasty ingredients unnatural edge control products have. Another huge plus about this product is that it has a comedogenic rating of 0 which means that it is literally impossible for it to break you out. Having sensitive/combo/acne prone skin this benefit is extremely necessary for me or else I get a bunch of tiny little wtf are these bumps around the edges of my forehead. This technique dictates the shape and direction your baby hairs will be laid and set in.

STEP 3

FILL DEM BABY HAIRS IN
So here is where the cheating comes in. You can't possibly expect my edges to look like the picture above without a little cheating cuz that s#&@ ain't real. At least for me because God blessed me with very fine baby hair that can be difficult to see due the fact that it is lighter than the rest of my hair and not very dense. Take any pencil (except a real one) like an eyebrow or eye liner pencil and fill in the sparse areas. Its important to hold the brush at a 45 degree angle and use feathery like strokes to fill it in. If you don't use the pencil that way the color will be deposited in a patchy I can see that fact that your baby hair is fake kind of way.

STEP 4

SET DEM BABY HAIRS IN PLACE
Every curlista or naturalista owns a satin/silk scarf if you don't then where have you been? This is the main secret behind fighting breakage with the delicate nature of waves, curls, coils, and kinks. It is also perfect for laying any left over fly aways that may be hanging around refusing to be laid. Tie the scarf snug around your edges and let it dry for 10 minutes and boom your life will never be the same. Now you have the illusion of perfectly laid baby hairs, flaunt girl or guy if thats what you like 😉.

RESULTS

THICKER and FLEEKY LOOKING EDGES LAID FOR THE GODS. I'M TELLING YOU EVEN THEY ARE IMPRESSED WHOEVER THEY ARE LOL.
